Summer Uniform – Terms 1 and 4

Girls:

Bib top and permanently pleated skirt in Royal Black Tartan (Catholic pinafore)
White short sleeved blouse
White ankle socks (no stripes or logos)
Black school shoes or black school sandals – buckle, lace up or velcro (not runners or slippers)
Navy sunhat – available ($14) from the School Office

Boys:

Grey summer shirt and shorts
Grey ankle socks (no stripes or logos)
Black school shoes or black school sandals – buckle, lace up or velcro (not runners or slippers)
Navy sunhat – available ($14) from the School Office

 

Winter Uniform – Terms 2 and 3    

Girls:

Bib top and permanently pleated skirt in Royal Black Tartan (Catholic pinafore)
Dark Royal Blue V-neck jersey or cardigan with monogram
Royal blue skivvy or white long sleeved blouse
White ankle socks or navy tights/over the knees
Black school shoes – buckle, lace up or velcro (not runners, slippers or boots)

Boys:

Dark Royal Blue V-neck jersey with monogram
Royal blue skivvy or grey winter shirt
Long grey socks
Grey winter shorts
Black school shoes – lace up or velcro (not runners, slippers or boots)

Notes

  • Year 7 & 8 girls do not wear the bib top.
  • The sunhat must be worn during the morning and lunch breaks in Terms 1 and 4.
  • The monogrammed school jersey/cardigan is available from The Warehouse Linwood Mall, or online www.schooltex.co.nz

  • Sports shoes may only be worn for PE/Sport and during break times.
  • If girls choose to wear bike pants under their pinafores, they must be black and not visible

Sports Uniform

Year 5-8
students are required to wear the sports uniform for daily fitness, sports days, etc.
Monogrammed royal blue polo shirt (available from The Warehouse)
Black shorts/bike pants
Sports shoes

Yr 6-8
students are provided with a school tracksuit for winter sport and when representing the School.
The tracksuit must be cleaned before returning at the end of winter sport.

Jewellery

No jewellery may be worn, except a wrist watch, a set of small ear studs, a medical alert.  A cross or greenstone on a neck chain may be worn but not visible.

Make-up

The wearing of make-up in any form, including nail polish, is not permitted.

Houses

The school houses help create a motivating and safely competitive environment, and they foster an important sense of belonging for the children. Each week they look forward to the house points being read out in assembly!
The houses are:

  • Aquinas (yellow)
    Named after Saint Thomas Aquinas, Patron Saint of Learning
  • Chanel (red)
    Named after Saint Peter Chanel, one of the first Missionaries who came to NZ. He was the first martyr in Oceania.
  • Euphrasie (blue)
    Named after Sister Euphrasie Barbier, founder of The Sisters of Our Lady of the Missions order which started our school in 1935.
  • Pompallier (green)
    Named after Bishop Jean-Baptiste Francois Pompallier, the first Bishop of Aotearoa.

After-school Programme

NBC engages Sports Canterbury to provide a service that not only guarantees your children are in safe hands, but provides them with fun games, activities and sports to keep them occupied, giving you time to work, do your shopping and get your family life organised.
